CommerceMetals Credit Accounts (Net 30 Days)
Want to pay via PO? No problem, we love repeat customers and will do everything we can to ensure you stick around and order more metal. They’re a little more expensive to process, so we would prefer you keep PO orders $100 or more. Please help save paperwork and keep pricing reasonable by ordering with a credit card when possible.
If you’re ready to get set up as a vendor, read on below for all the information you may need regarding CommerceMetals.com credit accounts. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to call.
What to do:
Setting up your CommerceMetals.com credit account is simple. Download and complete the credit application below using Adobe Reader (free download), save it, and return it to us by email, or fax to (507) 401-2145.
Credit applications usually aren’t approved the same day as it takes a little time to contact references and banks. However, be rest assured, we will do everything in our power to make sure the process happens as quickly as possible. Also, not everyone is going to be approved.
(Once your credit application is approved, we'll process payments as "Net30" and e-mail your order confirmation for any orders placed. If it isn’t, we'll give you a call to let you know, and discuss other payment options.)

Do I have to apply for credit first, before placing my order? It’s generally a good idea as not all credit applications are approved on the same day as the order being placed.
Once I'm approved, will I have to change the way that I order? There won’t be any changes! Just log in, place your order as usual, and select "Pay by PO" as your payment method.
My company has a Credit Information Sheet, can I just send that to you? Sure, but we'll still need the completed and signed CommerceMetals credit application.
What are the terms? Net 30 Days. (From the invoice date)
The legal nuts and bolts: "Customer understands that the entire invoice amount is due within 30 days from the invoice date or receipt of goods, whichever is later."
What we’re really saying: "We'll sell you the material in return for timely payment. Please don't make us wait too long."
What if I want to set up or change my account to Net 60? Unfortunately, we can't do it. All of our credit accounts are Net 30, and that’s just the way it is.
Do you offer a discount if I pay early? There are no discounts for early payment, but there are fees for paying late.
Do you have a minimum PO amount? Commerce Metals doesn't have any minimums. "Small Quantities, No Minimums!" We'd certainly appreciate it if you placed orders for less than $50 on a credit card though. (Help us keep our costs low and save time, energy, paper, stamps, potential collection calls. If you can, thanks in advance!)
Can I pay for invoices with my credit card? Definitely, just call us with your credit card info, and invoice numbers. (Off the record, we prefer that you pay for more than one invoice at a time though. Otherwise our accounting team gets really confused, wondering why you didn't just pay with a credit card in the first place.)
Late Payments: A customer whose account is over 30 days from the date of the invoice will be placed on credit hold, at which point, no additional shipments would be made until the past due balance is paid in full.
In the event a customer's account is sent to a collection agency, the customer will remain liable for full invoice amounts, and will be unable to purchase material from Commerce Metals via any payment method until the entire debt is paid. At that point, their account will become "Payment In Advance."
